Marubeni Europower is pleased to confirm that it has submitted a new Hazardous Substances Consent (HSC) application for its HyBont Green Hydrogen project to Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC).

The project is also the subject of a live planning application with BCBC.

In response to a previous HSC application, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) raised no concerns over the safety of the facility itself. However, it had raised specific concerns about the tube trailers that provide moveable Hydrogen storage. These concerns are addressed in the new application.

The consultation process on the new application is underway with the official notice appearing in the Western Mail on 11 December 2024. Engagement with statutory consultees by Bridgend County Borough Council will follow in due course.
