Neath Port Talbot Hydrogen Bus Shuttle to Royal Welsh Show Sells Out in Two Days Amid High Demand
Llanelwedd, Wales – In a major win for green transport, Hyppo’s Hydrogen Bus Trial for Royal Welsh Show’s Cob Day Sells Out in Two Days, demonstrating strong public appetite for zero-emission travel.
Sponsored by HyBont, Marubeni Europower’s green hydrogen facility in Bridgend—the bus will run from H2Bay in Neath Port Talbot, proving the viability of fuel cell technology in rural Wales.
“Hydrogen Buses: No Compromise on Range or Terrain”
Hyppo CEO Chris Foxall said:
“This sold-out service proves hydrogen’s real-world potential—tackling hills and distance without emissions. Each bus replaces diesel equivalents and takes cars off the road. For rural Wales, that’s a win-win.“
The buses will run on certified green hydrogen, aligning with Wales’ net-zero ambitions.
HyBont: “A Blueprint for Wales’ Hydrogen Future”
Tomoki Nishino, CEO of Marubeni Europower, added:
“Sponsoring this service highlights Marubeni’s commitment to Wales and cements hydrogen’s role in decarbonising public transport. The demand speaks for itself—we’re exploring more deployments across Wales.”
Royal Welsh Show: “A Leap for Sustainable Agriculture”
Aled Jones, CEO of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome the hydrogen bus to the Show and are excited to see this new technology emerge. It’s great to explore how innovation in transport can support events like ours.”
